Clachaig Glen

Project Background

Clachaig Glen wind farm received planning consent in 2019 for 19 turbines. Since receiving this consent, RWE has been carefully reviewing our options for the site going forward. The renewables industry, and in particular turbine technology, has evolved considerably since the initial application was submitted and there is now a need to reconsider the design of the wind farm.

In March 2022 RWE submitted a Planning Application to the Scottish Government. The planning documents are listed on this page under the “Planning Documents” drop down tab. They are also available to view on the Scottish Government website at www.energyconsents.scot under application reference ECU00002103. Following an objection from Argyll and Bute Council, a Public Local Inquiry was held in November 2023. RWE are now awaiting the outcome of the Inquiry with a decision expected in 2024.
