Pre-planning

Our Dalchork project is located in Sutherland in Scotland near to the town of Lairg.

In partnership with Forestry Land Scotland (FLS) (formally Forestry Commission Scotland) we have for a long time identified Dalchork as a possible site for a wind farm. Working closely with FLS we are working hard to maximise the wind resource across the national forestry estate.

Back in 2015 we made initial investigations into the site and due to a number of reasons we decided to put the project on hold. During this time we have worked hard to reduce costs for onshore wind farms to ensure they are financially viable. With advances in turbine technology we now believe that Dalchork has the potential to be a successful wind farm.

Further environmental studies are continuing on site and throughout 2020 we plan to fully consult the local community on our revised plans. Previous discussions about the site with the local community we extremely helpful in helping shape our plans. We will welcome any input you may have on this revised project.

Further details of the public consultation programme will be published shortly.
