Our Eredine project is located in Argyll & Bute, Scotland, between the villages of Eredine to the west and Furnace to the east.
Following the submission of the Scoping Report in 2022, we have now commenced the EIA process and are working towards a Section 36 application in Spring 2024.
We originally chose land at Eredine due to various investigations that showed its suitability for a wind farm. Our early studies showed the area’s wind resources and connections to the national electricity network make it an excellent place for a wind farm.

In September/October 2022 we undertook a series of public exhibitions to receive feedback on our initial designs. Although the proposals were at an early stage, we believe that proactive community consultation is an integral element of the planning process, and it is essential that the local community and other stakeholders are given the opportunity to view and importantly feedback their views directly to the project team.
Since these events, the project team has worked on further refinement of the layout which will be shared at two public drop in events:
Following the drop in events, the project team is targetting a Spring 2024 Section 36 application.
RWE is committed to supporting the communities that neighbour our wind farms. In 2022 alone community funds from wind farms operated by RWE in Scotland invested around £780,000 into local projects.
We are currently seeking input and ideas for the future Eredine community benefit fund. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions for the fund, please contact our community investment team via community.investment@rwe.com.
