Camster II

The 10 turbine site will be located in Caithness near to our existing operational project, Camster.  When completed it will be capable of producing up to 36MW of electricity.

RWE Renewables will continue to liaise with the local community through the Community Liaison Group for the next stage of this project.

Project status: In construction

Latest Information (October 2023)

We have begun initial construction work on site involving new access tracks and the construction compound.

In the coming weeks we will set up a community liaison group so that feedback from the local community can be shared directly with the project team. If you are interested in joining the group please contact Nicholas Taylor directly to express an interest.

Community Support

RWE is committed to supporting the communities that neighbour our wind farms.  In 2022 alone community funds from wind farms operated by RWE in Scotland invested around £780,000 into local projects.

Camster Wind Farm already has an operational community fund, administered by Foundation Scotland, with all decisions on the allocation of funding made by a panel of local people. Camster II Wind Farm, once operational, will bring with it further community funding.  During the wind farm’s construction period, our Community Investment Manager will work with local stakeholders to understand the best way to structure the new fund to maximise the benefit to local communities.

If you have any comments or questions on the Camster II Wind Farm Community Fund, please contact our Community Investment Team email: community.investment@rwe.com
